Joseph E. Burchick
Joe Burchick is the founder and president of Burchick Construction Company, Inc. Prior to founding the company in 1991, Burchick worked for Dick Corp., Navarro Corp. and Dunn Corp., gaining progressively more experience and responsibility in estimating, project management and executive roles. His career dates to 1978 and includes responsibility for major projects like the Benedum Center and the A. J. Palumbo Center. Building upon that experience, Joe has grown Burchick Construction to handle up to $50 million in construction per year and has managed projects as large as the $25 million Sennott Square building for the University of Pittsburgh, $18 million Airside Business Park for Elmhurst Group, $26 million design/build contract for the 99th Regional Support Command Reserve Center in Moon Twp. for the Army Corps of Engineers and the $73 million renovation of the William S. Moorhead Federal Building for the U.S. General Services Administration.
Joe’s involvement in the industry includes serving as president of the board of directors for the Master Builders’ Association of Western PA and the Pittsburgh Builders Exchange. He was appointed to the Commonwealth’s Task Force on School Cost Reduction in 2007. Burchick has volunteered extensively with the YMCA, including pro bono construction services at Camp Kon-O-Kwee. He is an active member of Orchard Hill Church. Joe lives in Marshall Township with his wife and two children.

David P. Meuschke, PE

Dave has been involved in the construction industry since 1977. Dave began his career by laboring in the field until his graduation from college in 1981. He earned a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering Degree from Penn State with specialization in Construction Management. Dave has experience in a variety of market sectors which include commercial, healthcare, institutional, industrial, research and ecclesiastical. Dave has worked under a variety of different contract formats, including lump sum, guaranteed maximum price, design-build and cost plus. His project experience is extensive and includes projects ranging from $50,000 to $75 million. He has worked closely with design teams, project owners, facility directors, consultants and user groups with successful project results. Dave is well known in the subcontractor community where he has worked in the local and regional market for over 30 years. Dave is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Pennsylvania and a LEED AP BD & C with the U.S. Green Building Council. He also maintains an OSHA 30-hour Safety Certification. Dave has completed the training and certification for the Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) 8-Hour Certification Program.

Vice President - Preconstruction Services
Joe has been involved in estimating and preconstruction services since 1986, following his earning a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Penn State. He has experience in the commercial, healthcare, institutional, industrial, research, government and financial market sectors. He has been involved with all types of delivery systems. Joe is experienced and proficient in estimating from schematic through final estimates, in the negotiated, design-build, GMP and competitive bid arenas. Joe has estimated projects ranging from a $25,000 cabin for a YMCA camp to the $73 million renovation of William S. Moorhead Federal Building. He has worked closely with owners, architects and engineers to develop and maintain budgets and has experience managing surveyors, civil engineers, geotechnical engineers and subcontractors during the preconstruction phase of projects. Joe is a LEED Green Associate with the U.S. Green Building Council and has completed the training and certification for the Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) 8-Hour Certification Program.
